Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our handcrafted Japanese blades.
What makes Karasu knives different from Western-style knives?
Karasu Japanese knives are typically forged from harder steel, allowing for a thinner, sharper edge and superior edge retention. Unlike Western knives, they are often single-beveled and designed for precision tasks.
How should I maintain and sharpen my carbon steel knife?
Carbon steel knives should be washed by hand and dried immediately to prevent rust. We recommend sharpening with whetstones rather than honing rods to maintain the integrity of the delicate edge.
Do you offer international shipping?
Yes, we ship our premium cutlery worldwide. Shipping rates and delivery times vary by destination, and all orders are tracked and insured for your peace of mind.
What is your return policy for kitchen cutlery?
We offer a 30-day return policy for unused items in their original packaging. Due to hygiene standards, we cannot accept returns for knives that have been used for food preparation.
Are your knives dishwasher safe?
No, you should never put a high-quality Japanese knife in the dishwasher. The high heat, harsh detergents, and movement can damage the wooden handle and chip the high-carbon steel blade.
Do the knives come with a warranty?
Every Karasu knife is backed by a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. This does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or damage from improper sharpening.
